Sambo
I've heard that basswood and lime are pretty much the same thing (i'm talking american basswood and european lime). So, if i made two guitars identical except from the body wood, one in each of these woods, would i be able to tell the difference? Hummmm... any help would be good S
Mickguard
As far as I can tell, they're just different names for the same species of wood. But even still, there are plenty of differences depending on where they're grown, which makes sense.
Mattia
They're not exactly the same species (they're both Tilia, one's Americana and the other one something else), and my impression is that Euro's a little heavier/harder, but not by much at all. Honestly, methinks they'd be pretty much idential. (Ironic thing of the day: basswood is cheaper than euro lime, despite being imported)
