chaspick Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Hi- I have started my first build, using paduak and quilted maple for a top. I'm thinking of using the paduak for the finger bosrd, because i really like the color! I have heard that paduak is orange/ red when first cut, and with time it will turn brown. I don't really have a problem with that, but i would prefer to have it stay orange! Is there some way that i can seal it and still have the color stay and the board feel natural? Quote
doug Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Yeah padauk!! Great stuff..... Do your best to keep it out of sunlight. Use an oil with UV filtering. It will stay orange longer. I have a piece I did 5 years ago and it's deeper in color, but not dark brown yet. -Doug Quote
