ebenezer shred Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 i recently started painting a guitar. after priming it, i saw that some areas were lighter. upon inspection i realized that those areas were much rougher, i now think it was because the sealer was sanded off, so, do i have to strip the primer and re-seal it? or can i just smooth it with sandpaper? or will it be fine? hotgoalie11565 Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 For the sake of consistency you probably should strip off the primer and re-seal the areas where you think the sealer might have come off. Quote
rsguitar Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 if it is a sandable primer then I would just sand down the rough area( with 320 grit sandpaper ), and then continue with more primer coats. Mike Quote
ebenezer shred Posted August 14, 2006 Author Report Posted August 14, 2006 yeah, it's sandable primer, so i don't have to re seal? (it doesn't have to be really perfect) Quote
