Just wondering, how much to do some custom inlays?

You would definitely have to pull out the frets.. so you'd have to buy new ones.

- You would need the inlay material. Pearloids are cheap, but real pearl blanks can cost quite a bit.

- You'll need a saw to cut the inlays.

- Next you need something like a dremel to route pocket for the inlays.

- You could use some superglue to glue the inlays into the fretboard

- After that fill the gaps with some sanding dust from the fretboard and some superglue.

- Now plane the inlays parallel to the raidius of the fretboard with a fretboard - - sander.

- Next is to polish the inlays and refret the neck.

These are just the basic steps, I think you can figure out the costs by surfing the internet for metarials. But you could also look at professional inlay sites or books or ask the pro's like Jeremy from LGM guitars etc.
