I want to use them on my les paul, but the les paul has all gold hardwhere. Would it be ok to swap the covers and pole pieces over from the gold pickups? Magnus Posted November 22, 2006 Report Share Posted November 22, 2006 You can do that. Just desolder the cover from the pickup, and it should come out easily. If there is some wax on the top of the pickup, leave it. Swap out the screws, and then put the gold cover on. Use a couple of small blocks of wood to press the cover on, so you get it on good and tight. You don't have to crank it down, just snug it up. Solder the cover back to the baseplate.
