fenderbender06 Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Hello everyone, Im somehwhat of a newbie to guitar building. I just finished my first strat and came across an old pickup I've had for years. I dont know where it came from or what it is. No names, no markings, nothing. Its a humbucker, it looks like an old les paul pickup only with two rows of magnet screws Id post a pic if this web site would let me...... Quote

Southpa Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 How many wires and what are their respective colors? If you have a multimeter (set for 10KΩ) you could measure the DC resistance through both coils and each coil separately. That might help you match it with known values. Either way, you would find out where each wire goes and know the pickup's output capabilities. This might help some http://guitarelectronics.zoovy.com/categor...ckupcolorcodes/ Quote

Looks as though its foreign of sometype. No intentions of using it-its mere curiosity. Quote
