RGGR
Is it as simple as grinding some of the chrome off the bottom of the bridge and then solder wire to it? Is that it, or are there more clever ways?
Southpa
Its been discussed quite frequently in this forum. Pull a bridge stud or stop-tailpiece stud. Drill a hole from control cavity to whichever stud hole you chose. Strip about 1" of insulation from a wire and poke it thru the drilled hole until the bare part is in the stud hole. Reinstall the stud and ground the other end of the wire to a volume pot casing. Double check with a multimeter between strings and ground location. erikbojerik
It is better to ground to the tailpiece stud. If in the future you decide to do something crazy like install nylon or graphtech saddles (neither are conductors), your strings will still be grounded. Also the pickup cavity is close enough to the bridge studs that you may not want to weaken the area further.
