smokeyjocustoms Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Hi, I have a question and I cant find the answer on my own. Not for lack of looking either. I bought three pickups and a wiring harness. The wiring harness has three pots and a three way switch. Can someone explain how to wire a three pot with a three way switch... This is my first guitar, I have ever built. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you Quote
smokeyjocustoms Posted October 11, 2003 Author Report Posted October 11, 2003 I looked there and only found a diagram for a 5 way switch. If I post a pic of the pick ups and the wiring harness maybe someone can screen pic the correct wire placement Quote
Brian Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Why not switch to a 5-way so you can have multiple combinations? Quote
Roli Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Yea, this way you could make something like the first Strats had (only bridge, middle or neck positions), without the in-between switch positions of the 5-way toggle. Quote
smokeyjocustoms Posted October 12, 2003 Author Report Posted October 12, 2003 Thank you for the response. The reason I'm using the three way, is because the wiring harness came with a three way all ready wired up to the volume pot. I'm trying to wire the pick ups to the switch and the tone pots to it.
