IPirro
I started this bass in the fall it has been slow progress due to pretty short incriments to work on it in woodshop at a local school. Alder Body 1 Pc Eastern Flame maple neck Martin style truss rod Pau Ferro fingerboard Marbled walnut top 3+2 tuners My own wound Passivee J pickup in mid/bridge position. Hipshot type bridge Tone/volume controls Knobs i turned on lathe Alder with figured walnut tops Walnut Pickup Covers I have drilled holes for pots and input since this picture. All that is left is to route pickup hole and finish. I will also be epoxying the fingerboard would you reccomend epoxy or CA glue? I think it has come out fairly well for my first build. DFW
I'm pretty much currently building that exact same bass, what is it with single cut 5 strings these days? Faddelicious eh? Everyone and their mother's building one... Looks good though.
Maurits
Looks very nice, the wooden knobs are a nice touch. The finish for the fingerboard might depend on what strings you're going to use, flats or rounds?
IPirro
I will most likely use rounds on this one.
Maurits
Then I'd go for as hard a finish as you can get.
biliousfrog
looks nice. You've used a Martin style truss-rod, is that a non-adjustable rod?
