Southpa Posted March 4, 2007 Report Share Posted March 4, 2007 No welding necessary. Thats a stock rod, you have to measure what length is needed to fit inside the neck. If its a replacement then just cut it the same size as the old one, otherwise find the length that should be used in your type of neck and cut to size with a hacksaw. Then use a thread cutting die (like the one shown) and cut the matching thread size for the anchor piece, the little barrel with the threaded hole in the side. The newly threaded rod screws into the hole and the butt end of the neck is routed out to fit the anchor across the end of the truss rod slot.
