radrobgray Posted May 18, 2007 Report Share Posted May 18, 2007 i have some behlens nitro and thinner i got from stew mac and i was wondering if its nessecary to thin it to a 1:1 ratio. it ses that on the thinner but not on the nitro. im wondering because i did this and it does not coat very well its too thin, even thinner than the waterbased stuff from stew mac. Mattia Posted May 19, 2007 Report Share Posted May 19, 2007 Behlen's stringed instrument lacquer is ready to shoot, I think; I always try shooting straight out of the tin first, and adjust thinner as necessary, and rarely ever more than 15-20%, usually closer to 5%.
