vinced08 Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 Hey, I was just wondering if anyone knew whether the finish on the Fender Vintage Hot Rod '62 Stratocaster® is pure Nitro or if Fender put poly underneath it and just did the top few layers in nitro. On the website it's listed as "Thin-Skin" Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finish, but I've yet to encounter a recent Fender guitar with a pure Nitro finish that's not from the custom shop. Thanks a ton in advance, - Vince Here's a link to the guitar on the Fender site. http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0100140846 Quote
Lostheart Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 There are special runs of their Vintage series called "Thinskin"...these guitars have, contrary to the regular Vintage series instruments (52 RI Telecaster etc), NO polyurethane undercoat. If this is one of them, I don't know, but judging from the specs I'd say it is... Quote
