dude
A few months back, I bought a Fullerton Brand Fat-Strat-Knock-Off for about $65 (US). According to the site I got it from (Woodwind and Brasswind), it usually retails for something like $350. Naturally, I was a bit sceptical, but it seemed like a pretty good deal anyway, so I got it. Here's what its got going for it: Rosewood Fretboard (its even level! No buzz that I can detect) Liscenced Floyd Rose (with a nut, of course) Unnamed pickups of some sort: Two strat-style single-coils and a humbucker No pickguard. Front-mounted pups and a rear-routed control cavity. Unknown body wood (its painted "metallic blue"), but I can faintly see that its in 4 pieces (a slight wave in the finish) One tone knob, one volume knob, one standard 5-way strat-style switch. Bolt-on maple neck (strat-style) Side-mounted jack (not strat-style) I wish I could tell you what it is specifically, other than "a Fullerton Brand Fat-Strat-Knock-Off," but I appear to have lost the literature that came with it. Anyway, I don't have a lot of experience with different guitars, but this one seems to be pretty good. Especially for $65. What do you folks think? Was it a good deal? pmarlin
If you like the way it plays then I would say yes you got a good deal.
Dazed
If you like the way it plays then I would say yes you got a good deal. Bingo! I mean seriously. If you looked at SRV's #1 guitar and he was some guy on the street, how much would you really offer for that guitar? Granted it is a Fender but it had a lot of character. What is that thing worth today? A million ? If you like it and it sounds good, that is all that matters.
