jemdave13 Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 I'm wanting to re-finish my Pacifica 812W as I don't really like the laminate "fake" flamed maple look on it. I was thinking either just removing the finish and just getting the totally natrual wood finish or removing and then re-painting a different colour. Either way, I just wondered what would be the best way to remove the finish to start with? I've not had much experience and am curious as to the depth of the front laminate finish. Does anybody have experience or advice? Thanks in advance Dave Quote
Drak Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 I would recommend just roughening up the existing finish and spray your new finish over top of the old. Look at your existing finish as a nice and already existing convenient 'primer' coat, saving you a LOT of extra work if you remove it all the way to bare wood and start over from scratch, just to wind up putting the same thing right back on again.
