thought i would try one too, never really had a problem doing it by hand (less than 2 minutes for a whole guitars worth!!), but i did some fretwire yesterday that twisted more than i would like and one of these thing suddenly seemed like more of a sensible option for consistency rather than speed!!

For some reason I could never seem to get the hang of doing it with pliers. I really lie it because for me it limited the amount of leveling and crowning that needs to be done after the frets are installed. I press mine in so if my board has a good radius and the frets have a smooth radius it’s almost like butter when leveling.
