Best Router Bit For Router Planing Jig

Hi guys

I am just constructiing the thicknessing jig for the body of my first build and would like advice on what router bit to use to thickness the body

I use a 1 1/4" straight bit (it's for mortising, really) with a shallow (1/4") cutting depth. Wide and small cutting depth is the key, and keep in mind I'm running this on a 1/2" collet router.

I use a 1/4" surface trimmer With wings ! - mighty big fun and gets it done fast and smooth.
