Bad Moon Guitars
Hello all.......new to the forum and new to building guitars as well. I am in the process of building my version of an Yngwie Malmsteen "Strat" . ( scalloped neck and all) I will be painting the guitar in a vintage white color. Does anyone know where I can get this color? Will a vintage white or cream automotive paint work as well? Thanks in advance. Keith
lovekraft
Fender Olympic White was originally a DuPont acrylic lacquer used by Cadillac from 1958-1962 - Reranch has it in a nitro formula. You can probably get a close sub in acrylic or poly auto paint that'll work fine. If you want a "vintage" look, clear coat with a tinted clearcoat, or use a light amber shellac between the color coat and the clear.
