Carved Top Strat Build

Recommended Posts

finally ive started on my newest build, it originally was just going to be a plain strat but now ive decided to make another carved top strat with a bolt-on birdseye maple neck and a rosewood fretboard and abalone inlays. the body is made from poplar with a curly maple top. im thinking of doing a trans black finish on the top and a black burst going all the way around the body.

specs

Poplar Body

1/2 inch maple top

birdseye neck

rosewood fretboard

gotoh trem

left handed

chrome hardware

one humbucker

one volume knob

some of this may change.

I got alot routed today. I'm almost ready to do the first part of my experiment. My experiment is which Strat bridge gives the most sustain, string through hardtail, non string through hardtail, or trem.

does anyone know how i can research it?

i just attempted an inlay after about 3 hours of practice :D, don't laugh

the first pictures what it looks like, the second picture is blurry, the third picture makes it look worse than it is due to the flash but it shows my mistakes best
