MescaBug
Hello, I've been around for a little while, but never posted any completed build. I just finished a BC Rich Stealth shaped neck-thru. The only thing left is the paint. And I need advices because I really don't know what color I should paint it!! Some say white, to contrast with the black hardware, some say black like Death Chuch Shuldiner Stealth's... What do you think? I used a Carvin custom neck for this project. I hadn't receive my fretting tools, and Madagascar ebony is harder to find these days. I didn't know www.lmii.com at that time! I had some problems routing the pickup cavity. I didn't notice my template was chipped, I went to far at some places. Easy fixed with wood putty. Here the specs and pics. Sorry for the poor picture quality, but it was late, and I had to turn on the flash. The mahogany is way darker than that. 25" scale, hard maple neck 24 frets Ebony fingerboard with no dots Jumbo frets African Mahogany body Planet Waves auto-trim locking tuners Hipshot hardtail string-thru bridge EMG 81 pickup Dunlop Flushmount straplocks http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b322/Mes.../Picture012.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b322/Mes...icture011-1.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b322/Mes...icture010-1.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b322/Mes...icture009-1.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b322/Mes...icture008-1.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b322/Mes...icture007-1.jpg Body wings cut, sanded and ready to be glued: PIC 1 PIC 2 PIC 3 PIC 4 Wings glued: PIC 1 PIC 2 PIC 3 PIC 4 Body contour: PIC 1 PIC 2 Cavities routed, and holes drilled: PIC 1 PIC 2 PIC 3 PIC 4 PIC 5 PIC 6 PIC 7 Heel shaping: PIC 1 PIC 2 PIC 3 Edited November 6, 2007 by Maiden69 one pic per post, forum rules

TheIRS
Wow, excellent!! I really wanted to make one of those but I couldn't find a template or a good enough picture of one to make a template from.. One day I want to make one with the same specs as Chuck Shuldiner's and call it a tribute. On that subject I think you should paint it black and replace your pickup with a Dimarzio X2N with the creme bobbins and black metal poles. Stewey
I vote white, it seems to be appealing to me lately, especially with the hardware you have in the pictures.
Mute_Requiem
Being a Huge Chuck fan, I would have to say black.
MR marinara sauce
this is kind of old school, but i would say go white with blood spatter. that or white with black pinstriping.
Xanthus
I'd go with a satin white, it'd be a nice touch. I'd also like to see the body a bit sharper cut to match the headstock, but that's just me. Nice job! Nice flushmount straploks too. I'm debating them for my next project, but I fear my strap breaking at a gig and nobody else having straploks on their strap and me having to play.... sitting down! *cue scary music* ::EDIT:: I'm pretty positive, but... Did you piece together that headstock? If so, what was the point in doing so? Just curious, I used a neckthrough Carvin neck for my first build. MescaBug
Finally made my choice; white. The black on white hardware will look nice. I love those flushmount locks. They give a very clean look, and are very comfortable. Xanthus: Tuner holes were not lined up correctly the first time. Instead of plugging the holes, I sawed that part of the headstock, glued another piece and drilled new holes, correctly this time! loach
Hey man nice work I'm also building a stealth at the moment (but its taken me like 2 years so far and its not done... im slow ) I was thinking i would pain mine white when i was done, but i think Chuck Schuldiners green one looks the best (though you'd need some attractive wood for the top i guess if you wanted to copy that). My vote goes to white... cause thats what mines gunna be too EDIT: i just read the rest of the thread and noticed you already chose white .
