bigdguitars
I just built this cab It sounds like ****... I need to add some kind of padding because the speakers become very muddy. They are fender Blue alnico speakers... This is a mahogany cabinet, looks great but... Quote Link to comment
jbkim
Is it open back or closed? I made a closed 2x12 cabinet with speakers from a fender combo (open back) and it too sounded not so good. See how it sounds without the back cover if it has one. I don't know but would padding make it even more muddy? Quote Link to comment
bigdguitars
Supposly the wood is so much more dense that it changes the dynamics of the speaker. Plywood moves a little more so it sounds better. Its a 1/2 open back setup. there are these little rings that I should place around the speakers which should give it a better sound.
