mastertone007
OK i have a 3 piece ibanez RG 470 body. It was striped back by someone and now i am going to paint it. I am using nitro black satin and i will give it a clear gloss top coat. It was my birthday on sunday so i got a new spray gun... goodie.. New Gun I taped of the sides for the natural binding look. while i was spraying the tape started to come of!!!!!! and this is the end result! Opps Ibanez Ok i have to fix this some how. I might tape of the areas around where the binding is meant to be and sand the black back. Would this be the way to do it? Input and ideas would be appreciated. WezV
does the body have any clear or sealer underneath the black? If that black is on bare wood it will be much harder to remove, if its on a clear coat it can just be scraped back to where you want it
ElysianGuitars
just fyi, RG470's didn't have pick guards, thatd be an RG450 or 550, or some lesser model. Edited December 3, 2007 by ElysianGuitars

Well for some reason this one does. it had RG470 in the neck pocket and on the neck. Cheers

ElysianGuitars
just fyi, RG470's didn't have pick guards, thatd be an RG450 or 550, or some lesser model. Well for some reason this one does. it had RG470 in the neck pocket and on the neck. Cheers what it has in the pocket matters not. my RG7421 had RG7621 in the neck pocket, lots of ibanez's are like that. RG470's absolutely never had a pick guard, and they were always rear routed. doesn't matter much, as they are all just basswood bodies, made of multiple pieces of wood, it was just an fyi.
