OrenG Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 (edited) Hello, It's been a while since I was on so I thought I'd ask a few questions. First off I now have a Mexican made strat, the question I have is does anyone have any good relic-ing tips to make it look more like Clapton's Blackie? By relic, I don't want to ruin the body at all, just age the removeable pieces, such as the knobs, back plate and tuners. -Thanks, OrenG Edited December 18, 2007 by OrenG Quote
hotgoalie11565 Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 There are a couple of things you can do depending on what look you're going for. If you want a yellowish tinge to the guard and knobs, you can try the neck amber from Guitar Reranch. Or if you want a brownish tinge, try letting them sit in coffee. Just make sure the coffee isn't hot though. I made that mistake and ruined my knobs and pup covers. Quote
rjhalsey Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 Poly is really hard to relic and make it look convincing. Just thought I would throw that in there. Quote
