Mitjovan Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) Hey! I`m interested in 1-5/8" (41.3mm) nut width for electric guitar, and also i found it mostly on Music man guitars, which all have smaller necks than Fender, Ibanez and so on... Is it possible to make a small neck, lets say 1-5/8" and 2-1/4" at last fret (similar as MM Axis) and make matching size headstock for 6 in line tuners, cause all Music man have 4-2 tuner configuration. I am afraid that if i make that small neck that the proportional sized headstock will be to small for 6 in line tuner configuration. I`m sorry, i am beginner, and i did not consult my local luthier for that matter... Edit 25 1/2" (64.8cm) scale and 10" (25.4cm) radius Edited February 11, 2008 by Mitjovan Quote
doug Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 A typical nut is 1-11/16" so 1-5/8" is only 1/16" narrower... not much really. Therefore, you'd only have to adjust the width of your headstock at the nut just a little bit. No big deal. -Doug Quote
