shadow EQ-5 pickups

I'm wondering about the shadow pickups (sh-eq5) that have the equaliser built in to them. They say that you can make them sound like different pickups by changing the settings. Is this true? How well does it work?

this is one of the brands that psw was telling me about as we are currently trying ot put eq's and other stuff inot the actuall pickup.. if it sounds half as good as what i am expiramenting with then i would buy them
