He's a mad tapper and I designed a custom Bass styled tapper for him. 8 String Tuned to the second fret C sharp thru to C All Bubinga woods Q tuner BL-6 Pickup 2 band EBS Preamp Custom made Ali Bridge 13mm spacing It sound great and we will be at the UK BassDay with it! They look incredible to me but I haven't tried them, yet. RIM Basses Posted October 23, 2008 Author Report Share Posted October 23, 2008 Hi David , I love the Q tuner pickups, they are one of the best pickups I have used to date if not the best. They are so powerfull in passive mode and they have great definition across the range. I love the look of them also, I have never messed with the pole pieces as you can adjust them for a different sound. Komodo bud the bass is Danish Oil 6 coats and 4 coats of Wax, simple and looks great, the curly bubinga in the neck pops up! Glad to see some of you guys like the Tapper Bass. It really is great to play, super low action for tapping but you can also play bass even with a 13mm spacing. Use a pick and it works as a Guitar also. Cheers, Robbie.
