Billybob Posted November 20, 2008 Report Share Posted November 20, 2008 Hi everyone. I'm "fresh meat" looking for information on my 1st modification. I'm looking at modding a Yamaha strat copy and I like the Lace Alumitones as new pickups. What is the difference in tonal quality between the single, humbucker, and P-90 style Alumitones? Are they mimicing the tonal qualities of these style pickups or are they just physically similiar? I'll be rewiring as needed. I'm looking for a clean, clear, full signal that can be "flavored" by effects and amps when needed. I'm assuming that any acoustic sound qualities can be taken out but not pushed back in through effects. Thanks for any ideas or suggestions.
