PmCimini Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 Ok so Im new in this forum and i was reading about veneer finishes. I've helped a friend to build a couple guitars, but I never really understood how he figured out all the problems and he told me to go here. I am looking for a PRS "blue matteo" finish, but all the veneer finishes look like wood, and this specific finish doesnt seem to be the real wood grain, it is really randomized and 'wavy', so I just wanted to ask if anyone has an idea of how i can replicate it. Thanks in advance Quote
Bmth Builder Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 Its stained quilted or flamed maple, although I'm not sure of the shade of blue or PRS's staining technique. Quote
Maiden69 Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 Blue Matteo is fairly easy to attain, by either staining or dyed clear. From all the PRS finishes it is one of the simplest ones. http://images.google.com/images?q=PRS%20%2...sa=N&tab=wi Quote
