Ted Smith former Melobar
A builder in SF traded me a large bag of pearl inlay in half inch chips about 8 years ago and I forgot about it until today. He used to supply Martin with inlay - I don't know how to determine quality or price or anything. Anyone...
pariah223
what do you mean by half inch chips? If each piece is a half inch square.. you basically got a bag of scraps and off cuts it sounds which still has its uses, but is less valuable then a bag of bigger pieces. I was at a luthier expo type thing in woodstock NY about a month ago, and a guy was selling nice sized bags of pearl in varying sizes, but most were at least a couple inches long by an inch tall. I payed about 30 bucks for the whole bag.
Ted Smith former Melobar
that's a help - I don't know if there is better quality in type, I'll probably ebay it in smaller bags, somebody I'm sure can use it.
pariah223
can you post a picture of what you have?
cSuttle
As mentioned above, the bigger the pieces for more they are worth. The going rate is $26 per ouch for the big stuff. If the are 1/2 square my in a .06 thickness I would think about $8 per ouch. My me personally, they would be worthless.
