On Installing Sd 'phat Cat' P90's In My Project Strat

Hey

I'm thinking of putting some 'Seymour Duncan Phat Cat' P90's in my project squier strat (alder)

I'll be using them on an old archtop circuit (tone and volume for each) with on/off switches for each pickup.

Will they/this setup give me the warm/jazzy/dark(ish) sound that I crave?

As warm and jazzy, say, as one could get without using an archtop/semi...? (I do own an outstanding 60's semi-hollow)

I'm buying them second hand and they're not exactly in the best condition, with crazing and pitting to both neck and bridge... if this makes a difference?

The reason I ask is that all of the reviews online mention them being great for 70's/classic rock (I don't play classic rock) and being brilliant through distortion (I rarely if ever use distortion) and I need some help!

Any feedback (excuse the pun) is welcome and appreciated :D

Kind regards, Pat x
