cukaracha
Hey there, I was wondering if the process of refinishing a luthite body is the same as a regular wood body. I've read that it may be better to just sand down the old paint, primer and paint over. Any thoughts? How would the job be any different from a regular refinish? Thanks. bob123
Being plastic based material, Id speculate it'd actually be easier to refinish. The only issue, Id say be careful on how aggressive you sand, and do NOT use paint strippers or heat guns for obvious reasons. Grunt work will bring that one in the best. As far as paint is concerned, you may need a plastic based primer to prime it with.
