If its going to be one large fully sealed enclosure, you don't want much free space in it. I'd batten the shit out of it. I used to have a bunch of great info from Electro-Voice about how to tune both closed and open cabs properly. There is a lot to it to make a sealed cab operate properly with the appropriate amount of backpressure for the cone/spider to 'cushion' off of.
