I've been facinated with the Chapman Stick since I was a wee lad but I don't play the style enough to justify buying a whole separate (expensive) instrument dedicated to it. My main tapping resource is Tappistry.org but it's mainly a player's place. There was a recent thread about fretboard radii which made me remember the Solene. It, to me, has some facinating concepts (3" aluminum tube, serpentine frets, no truss rod, no neck relief, etc.) It's cheaper than a stick ($800 vs. $2000) and it has a more familiar tuning so it's making me think about getting one... but I wonder what comments/insight, the builder types here would have on making this instrument.
