JonStradling Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Hey Guys, I got a washburn NX6 of ebay a little while back and it had the humbuckers mounted straight to the wood. I personally didn't like the pickups (dimebucker and '59) and more so I didn't like that I couldn't adjust the height on them. So I pulled them out and sold them and bought EMGs. I added mounting rings and the neck pickup fit perfect. However the route for the bridge pickup was not deep enough and when installed the emg sticks up so high the strings rub on it. How do i make the route deeper? What is the best method? Quote
lotass Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 If you want you could just use your router, but if that's a hassle, you could try a chisel, sandpaper, a drill, etc. Quote
darren wilson Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Or if you don't want to make a permanent change to your guitar, you could shim the neck up a couple of millimetres and raise your bridge a touch so the strings clear the pickup. Quote
