Seeking Chicagoland Guitar Players....

I am a guitar novice planning to purchase my first guitar, but I know nothing of what to look for (what works/ doesn't work for my needs).

Someone suggested that I seek out board members in the Chicagoland area who might be willing to meet me at a music store to go over the basics of what to look for in a guitar.

So if you live in the Chicago metropolitan area and love sharing (if not showing off) your immense knowledge of guitars, please PM me.

Where are you at in chicago? I dont live there anymore, viva las vegas, but could recomend some places i used to dig. If I can make it Minstrel Music in Niles will be part of my visit home in May. Extremely cool people.

I think at least one forum member works in a chitown-area store.

If you want a decent used guitar, check out midwest buy and sell. It's like a pawnshop that specialzes in guitars and amps. Lots of used stuff (as well as "vintage") and so many marshall amps it is difficult to navigate the store.
