tsl602000
Hey all, Today I finished my first guitar neck. This site and forum was a tremendous help for my guitar building efforts. Thanks to all for answering my questions. I'm a stratcat, so all I care for is to build that perfect strat. I always hated those skinny fender necks so I build me a big fat neck! It's a hard rock maple neck with a (stew mac) compound radius rosewood fingerboard (10-16). It's 0.953" thick at the first fret and 1,02" at the 12th fret. I opted for 6105 frets and finished the neck with boiled linseed oil. She looks really pretty! Tomorrow I'll put her on a body. Gotta wait untill my Alder bodyblank comes in, but I don't think making a body is as hard as making a neck. I guess I really need a digital camera.... tsl602000
Started working on the second one today. I found a supplier here in Holland that sells finished bodies almost as cheap as a bodyblank, so I'll just concentrate on necks... love doing that!
