MzI Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 I had some fun ripping up my dinning room floor today, not really, but now there is a huge pile of oak floor boards that might just get thrown out, is there any reason why i could salvage some of the longer boards turn em quarter sawn and make glue lam necks out of them, all of it is pretty straight grained and isnt oak fairly similar in tone properties to maple? Guest Litchfield Custom Gutars Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 if it is red oak, I dont know. White oak is fine. Quote
Slaughthammer Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 maybe it's a little heavy, but that's something you have to know on your own, weather you want a light or a heavy guitar. if weight doesn't matter oak will be fine Quote
