I had some fun ripping up my dinning room floor today, not really, but now there is a huge pile of oak floor boards that might just get thrown out, is there any reason why i could salvage some of the longer boards turn em quarter sawn and make glue lam necks out of them, all of it is pretty straight grained and isnt oak fairly similar in tone properties to maple?
