lowe9
i need one tiny piece of pearl, just enough to do the Gibson logo on the top of a headstock. if any one has a small off cut or something, send me an email at rite_of_chaos@hotmail.com
Devon Headen
That's gonna take a pretty decent sized piece of pearl. I'll be willing to sell you a piece, but I doubt if anyone's giving away shell like that.
LGM Guitars
Pearl's cheap dude, I've got a ton of it here, I think I have 16 oz or something, just shoot me an email with how much you need, we'll work something out. Jeremy
LGM Guitars
I guess a ton of and 16oz is a contradiction huh LOL, I suppose I should have said bunch
Devon Headen
Well, it is relatively cheap I guess, but that's still quite a hunk. I got about 8 oz stashed up over here...although for a jobless guy 20 bucks an ounce adds up quick.
LGM Guitars
$20 an ounce is way to much, MOP is only about $14 an ounce, and an ounce goes a pretty long way in all honesty. If you are buying from Stew mac you are paying way to much for not very good shell. I actually bought a bunch of it on a really good sale for $6 an ounce, every now and then these things come up
lowe9
thanks for the offers, but i already have to place a stew mac order, so i will get ripped off by them, as it is easier for me. Im not going to cut out the actually gibson logo in pearl, but mearly in the pearl block, then do the computer decal and laquer approach. now if someone has some gold les paul hardware they want to sell me... Devon Headen
I'm confused now...do you mean you're using the pearl to do the LP Custom pattern inlay thing on the headstock? I'm missing how you're gonna use the pearl, but not cut it out.
GregP
I believe he's just going to put down some pearl, and then "mask" over it with the Gibson logo cut out of some sort of black material before clear-coating over the whole shebang.
