Daniel Sorbera
Isint it hard too keep it clean and not scratched? That would be my only concern for a guitar made out of polished aluminium.
psw
Well, Mr SD, I think the idea is you just keep polishing it...how much scratching can a plastic pick do! It's the sticky/sweaty fingerprints that would be the killer I'd imagine! Aluminium's probably a lot more resistant to scratching than most finishes and a lot easier to restore...just polish it out. Now panel beating a dent out of it...that's going to be hard! Rocksolid...that's an expensive chrome look...but it's not actually a metal guitar now is it! I'll be putting together a hybrid timber aluminium guitar in the near future...got the neck and the body outline (strat-ish)...got to get some more hardware though...and work out exactly how to do it! Basically it will be a chambered guitar with an alloy face. So the back and rim (including all the strat's sexy curves) will be timber but it will be essentially hollow and light. pete
