What's the difference between korina

I want to know the difference between korina and mahogany?? And is korina is good what do you think a fitting neck would be.

I'm thinking maybe an alder body dark maple fingerboard, and some kind of oiled neck. I'm pretty sure that this will be good for the vintage look/feel/tone.

Alder and a maple fingerboard should definately give you a kinda strat-like vintage tone....of course much depends on the pickups you choose as well....
