Thunder
I am a new-comer to building. I have read fairly extensively about the tonal qualities of different woods. At this point I'm considering a Strat type body made of Swamp Ash. Also thinking about DiMarzio Virtual single coils. The question is; how does neck/freetboard composition affect tonal quality compared to body composition? What types of woods do you recommend? truerussian558
try this website, they tell of the tonal properties (and other properties) of nearly any wood that could possibly be used for guitar construction
guitar_ed
Hi Thunder, Another idea that I would suggest is to look at the Fender guitars and analyze what woods are used and how they impact the sound, as compared against "the book."
