willliam_q Posted June 22, 2004 Report Posted June 22, 2004 I know next to nothing about routers apart from how to use them. I have no idea about the type of bits that are available. I have heard on this forum a load of people talking about making templates for neck pockets and things. What is a template bit? I understand it could be a straight cut bit with a bearing on it. Are bits available to buy like this or do I somehow put a bearing onto a straight cut bit? I have started my first guitar project with very little wood working skills. I started on the neck and am really enjoying it. So far things are going well. I would just like to know about this as I don't like the idea of freehand routing!!!! not with my skills at least thanks PS. any searches on google for tempate bits just show up straight cut bits without bearings Quote
