soapbarstrat Posted February 13, 2006 Report Share Posted February 13, 2006 I guess you mean .006" *relief* (like around the 7th fret). I like .004" max on my necks. .002" is usually good. I'd go for .000", but when I "shred" for a while, I will actually heat the neck enough with my left hand that it will change the relief *slightly*. (at least, this has seemed to have happened. That is to say, the fretboard is back on, the new frets are in. Even with the frets not levelled, the buzz is almost tolerable... I guess it can be done, go figure.... Now I just need to scrape together some $$$ to get it levelled and finished by someone who knows what their doing. I know what you're thinking, "why start now?"
