  1. Hey psw. Phenomenal work. you're right, it's not easy. Sometimes it is a struggle to follow. But no way am I giving up on this thread, i'll be supportive right through to the end. Good luck with these unbelievable projects. Ive seen them go from concepts to physical prototypes and all I can say is you SHOULD NOT give up on this because of the length you've come so far. Excellent and inspiring work.
  2. Cool, nice to see its comming along nicely. Have you been to any companies to see if they'd be interested in turning this into a commercial product? Or would they somehow screw you over and steal it?
  3. Godin he has said it wont be available for a long while yet. So your wont be able to rout your guitar for it now.
  4. Does this driver not have to be in the neck position? As mentioned before I really wouldn't sacrifice my Punchbox in the neck for a sustainer . Ok psw, this is how I think I will do it, I will go through each page and pick out the relevant posts and then give a description, the name of the poster, and what number post that is of theirs on that page (e.g. their second post). And obviously the page number. dont know when I will start it, maybe tomorrow.
  5. Do you think I should go over all 400 posts and put the person's name etc? If that is the case then that will take a hell of a lot of time and I think I should do it without the hyperlinks and people can just go to the page (i could write the page number next to it) and they can scroll down until they get to that post. If someone has multiple posts on one page i could write the page and post number in the index. Make sense at all?
  6. cool, the progress seems promising psw, its all exciting now that you have a prototype that is begining to work. I think this thursday and friday i will attempt to index the thread for you however, as the thread goes, more indexing will be needed. so how do you want me to go about doing this?
  7. Hi, ok cool, thanks for the advice.
  8. Cool, let us know how things go.
  9. There is quite a few places that do it actually. ZZounds and Music123 are a few I can think of.
  10. Hey psw, do systems like the sustainer and sustainiac have a circuit board with more controls on them for this? I know the sustainer (fernandes) has a circuit board with four trimmer pots on, not sure what they do. Best thing to do, to get an idea of what you need from a circuit, is to email the two companies pretending you're a college student and ask for basic info which isnt giving their system secrets away, but giving you the info you need. Although you probably know all that information through searching the patents? I wish I was more help but im not, sorry .
  11. Could controls like that be added to any fuzz circuit if they are put in the right place with the right resistors and capacitors etc.
  12. Hmm, can you explain exactly how the Fuzz Factory is working at all in detail? I'm really intrigued? Thanks.
  13. Sorry I didnt undrstand that, how does the stab control on the Fuzz Factory work again (or all the controls for that matter lol).
  14. The ultra fuzz is apparently analogue. does anyone have schematics for it?
  15. I voted for the first option but I do have two out of the five controls from the Z-Vex Fuzz Factory on the front of my guitar (also an on/off switch) since I built in that pedal.
  16. Johnny G have you noticed the new Z-Vex vexter series of the Fuzz Factory. They are aluminium casing and cheaper thasn the hand painted stuff. I have a Fuzz Factory, it is that pedal that I built into my guitar. Can one of you send me the schematic of it, i'd be interested in having a copy. Lol, why wont you build one? Is it due to copywrite reasons or not? I also have a question that isnt linked to the Fuzz Factory but I didnt want to make a whole new thread. Does anyone have, or know of anywhere that I could get hold of a schematic for the now discontinued Zoom Ultra Fuzz? I've heared that it is a good pedal and can do similar noises to the Fuzz Factory. I'd be very interested in seeing a schematic on it. Thanks.
  17. Hey psw, dont be dishartened about the fact your sustainer project isnt going to well at the moment. All designers who are doing something new go through the stage of realising the possibility that they may be out of their depth. The key to it all is research research research. Oh, and also a lot of determination. To me, if you have achieved infinate sustain, no matter how big, your a lot of the way there already. Your task is just to compress it all. I have a little quote for you that should help keep you motivated and realise you can do this, even though you probably have this correct attitude already. It is from the guitar builder who built the custom guitars for Matt Bellamy from Muse, I dont know if you have heared of them, but they did a tour in the states recently, not sure if they have ever been to Austrailia. But anyway, this is what he said about one of his guitars he made, and I think it can apply to most if not all things: "It’s funny how something that starts out being a good project, goes through this potential disaster stage and comes round to being a massive success."
  18. Hey psw, if someone could het infinate sustain from Ansil's sustainer mod, you'd be 110% pissed off for spending so much time on your sustainer research when all it took was a simple op amp, capacitor and a piezo speaker lol .
  19. The capacitor is just before pin 5 on the chip. What symbol in the lower right hand corner, the two symbold there are the capacitor symbol and the ground symbol.
  20. I would have to replace my tune-O-Matic bridge for a GraphTech one with the piezo saddles. Yeah its cool about the modularness of the system. The new generation systems wont need what? Anyway, keep up the good work.
  21. Anything else interesting you can do to aluminium to get it looking cool. I'm happy with how it looks just wanting to know what else can be done.
  22. Cool. Sounds good. Just going slightly off topic here but I was interested in the Graph Tech acoustic saddles (not bothered about the MIDI as I dont want to pay out for a midi device lol) but what does the acoustic system sound like? According to a Graph Tech guy it sounds like the sound from an electro acoustic. but I thought i'd get the opinion from a user of the system. Whats the acoustic system like a) on its own and on the blend mode between acoustic and magnetic pickups. Thanks for any feedback. good luck with your development psw. If I have the time, When I finish college for christmas and once I come back from London after seeing MUSE I will try to index the thread for you, if I can lol.
  23. Ah well, i'll just use some duraglit stuff I have, I used this stuff to polish it and it looked good afterwards, but if it will go shinnier with buffing then i will go for that.
  24. Hey psw, sorry I got confused but if I interpreted it correctly, you have done what Graph Tech haver done with piezo acoustic stuff. You have the sustainer piezo's or whatever you use in the bridge saddles so you only need the bridge and this then groes through into your guitar's cavity. Am I right at all or way off the point? Good work anyway though. Sounds really impressive.
  25. All the information on the Fernandes Sustainer system is on their website.
