  1. Do people have any comments on the Line 6 Flextone III amps?
  2. Oh, so I would have to replace my entire bridge. Hmm, this isn't something I feel confident in doing. I've never replace a bridge before. Plus I like my Tune-O-Matic bridge lol. It was just an idea to see how feasible it would be.
  3. First of all. There is no certain type of Motherbucker with four coils in one humbucker and blades. That is the Motherbucker and there is no other type (if your refering to Kent Armstrong's Motherbucker). My guitar is fitted with a Motherbucker in the bridge (the best place for it) and it is really good. Mine has a powerful sound nad I can happily recommend this pickup. But at the end of the day, as with any pickup choice, it depends on what music your going to be playing etc. The Motherbucker also gets anazing harmonics too by the way.
  4. Hey guys, as far as I am aware, ther are no other threads to do with this as much as I would like so I thought i'd start a new one. Sorry in advance if there is already these questions answered elsewhere. Ok I am wanting to record some tracks with my guitar. Also pu tthe bass down (either using my guitar as bass or borrowing one and drums with drum machine). I was originally thinking of an 8 track along the lines of Boss-864. But then I thought I would consider PC recording. I have come accross two systems so far: M-Audio Delta 66 (without software included though) Steinberg System Cubase System 4 (includes Cubase software) I was wanting people's opinions on each of these products and also any other products I should be considering that are within the same sort of budget area s the two above. The Steinberg system looks good and was recommended by a guitar shop here in the UK that I emailed. But thought i'd ask for the advice of people on this forum before making any decisions. Thanks guys.
  5. So let me get this right. you don't have to replace your bridge to have the Graphtech acoustic system. Only the saddles on the bridge? So say for example I wanted to have graphtech acoustic system on my guitar with a Tune-O-Matic bridge, would I need to purchase a whole new bridge, or just replace the saddles if that is even possible.
  6. Just going back to the Marshall and Line 6 amps. I'm loosing interest in the Marshall amp. I've heard some samples on the line 6 site of the Spider II. To me it sounds fairly ok but not something that caught my attention a lot. Then I remembered that over the summer when I was doing a summer guitar course, I played through a Line 6 Flextone. Not sure where it was a flextone II flextone III or flextone III plues etc. But I take it these amps are far superior to the Spider II and if I could afford the extra it would be recommended that I go for one? What are people's opinions on this amp?
  7. Ok so let me try to understand this, since amps aren't my area of knowledge by any means. A 25W tube amp would be way more louder than say a 100W SS amp?
  8. lol, what a long and strange email address. I'll contact him and see what he's like.
  9. Cool, is he cheap and are they quality/safe amps? Sorry to sound un trustworthy but there are a lot of people in the world that will try anything.
  10. Ok, thanks very much Ansil, I appreciate your support. Cool, if I could save a couple of jundred dollars (or whatever that is in UK pounds) then I could also jump ahead and get one of the three pedals i'm after too to complete my set up I want: Decent amp Digitech Whammy WH4 Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler Boss PH-3 Phase pedal But for now i'm taking care of the amp. Thanks for the help. Look foward to your response Ansil. thanks to everyone else for input.
  11. Hmmm, ok, so what exactly would you recommend I look at Ansil. Sorry for being persistent. but I would like to consider EVERY alternative, especially when I'm going to pay in the region of £300 for a good amp. Err thats about $545. So you can see why i'd like to consider everything. So what amps for an experimental muse type sound. Other than the line 6 stuff, which isn't looking so good anymore lol.
  12. Thanks for the recommendations. However, even though I have an FF, I won't be using this as my main distortion so I would also like an amp with a good distortion channel as well as clean. Thanks for anymore input.
  13. Yes, the fuzz Factory is one of the keys to a Muse type sound. I built one into my custom guitar so I already have that. Ok so I'm not hearing much support for the Line 6 and I take it your not too bigger fans of the Marshall either. Ok, so what would you recommend I take a look at then? Something in the same price range as either the Line 6 Spider II or the Marshall 250DFX amp. Thanks for your help guys.
  14. Do you also do complete custom orders Ansil? I'm wuite interested now lol .
  15. Hi, this sort of thing has probably been posted before so I apologise in advance for this. I'm looking for a new amp and I have got two in mind. The Marshall MG250DFX (thats the stereo 50W amp) and the Line 6 Spider II amp 210/212. Could anyone give me advice on which one would be the best amp to gp with? I hear that the distortions on the Line 6 aren't great but clean its really good, plus it has effects in it. The marshall I hear has good distortion with good clean and fewer effects. What would people recommend? If it helps, I play rock music along the lines of Muse and I will want to be experimental with my sound but have good distortion. My custom guitar has Kent Armstrong Motherbucker and rio Grande Punchbox for pickups. Thanks.
  16. Ok the one prong on its own on one side should be grounded. this is to ground the switch. then your right after that. Middle to the live jack terminal. right/left to volume pot. and right/left (depending on which went to vol) goes o ground jack terminal. And there you have it, one kill switch (which will cut signal in two out of the three possible switch positions). Hope that helps.
  17. I'm currently doing a guitat tuner for a college electronics project. Thanks to those who have posted links to sites. The information will be very useful.
  18. Thanks very much. This will come in usefull. Cheers!
  19. Hi guys, sorry for this post if it is in the wrong section. I am doing a project on guitar tuners, and as an introduction and research section of the project, I will need to know why and when the tunings for the guitar came into existence. Does anyone know the history of guitar tunings and could anyone direct me to a site or anything that will be usefull in telling me this information. Thanks in advance for your help guys. Dave.
  20. Well if you don't know advanced stuff, why are you jumping right into the deep end with the ebow?
  21. It's one thing building a circuit from diagrams. But it's another thing to understand the circuit you've just built. I think thats what everyone is trying to get accross to you.
  22. Wow, cool. Incredible news psw. One of the most exciting parts of logging onto this forum is to check up on the amazing progress you are making with this.
  23. Unfortunately i've been a little too busy to listen to the smaples yet. However, I will get to listen to them and i look foward to doing so. Keep up the good work.
