  1. The stainless wire can be a b!*ch on fret files if you are using it a lot. It's just harder so it will take a bit more work to level and crown. Chuck Norris could probably just look at your neck and the frets would be leveled, or the neck would vaporize. Just call his name because Chuck Norris is in all places at all times.

  2. You are going to need a pretty decent size compressor to spray with. I have a 33 gal Craftsman (~$330 new) and I could really use a larger one. You need to look around at guns and take note of the CFM requirements and then match those to the output of the compressor you are looking at. Its probably a good idea to find the compressor that matches those specs and buy slightly larger. Nothing worse than running out of air mid spray.

  3. I have a brand new Stewmac dual grit diamond fret file (150 and 300) for wide wire. I bought this for my tele project but now that I have been fortunate enough to get a job at a guitar company I no longer need it. It was never used. Stewmac wants $55 for these, I'll take $45 shipped (in North America). Paypal, check, money order, whatever. Below is a link to stewmac.com if anyone is curious to what this looks like.

  4. I have two of the earlier Stew Mac fret scale templates for use with either a table saw setup or handsaw/miter box style setup. I bought these about a year ago with plans of getting a blade for my tablesaw but I never got around to it. I now have the oppurtunity to cut my boards at work so I dont need these anymore. They are brand new. I did pull the paper off one side of one template (theyre 1/4" lexan). Otherwise they are in perfect condition. One template has a 25" and 25.5" scales and the other is labled Gibson Long and Gibson Short which is 24.625 and 24.75 as far as I can tell. Stewmac now offers these in stainless steel for $40 a pop. LMI has lexan ones for ~$32. I was hoping to get $40 shipped for both or $25 shipped each. Let me know if anyone has any questions. Thanks!
