  1. Hello and welcome aboard Jehle, lol as im sure you will cme to find out this place can be addictive
  2. OK thats something i want to ask on that (monkey grip) Is the back supposed to have that flat cut in it? I thought it was to be like how Bear has his contured with the shape of the body. Im in the pre stages of doing that and it's puzzled me:huh: lol you figured i would've known...oops looked when going to the music store and seeing it all the time....one of those things overlooked.
  3. OHHHH GOOODIE!!!!!!!! this just keeps getting better and better, my taste buds are in overdrive now
  4. Man...i wish i had the $777 bucks i'd snatch that up quick.......DAMN what a time to be strapped for cash so i feel your lack of cash. But im sure someones bound to pick this one up!!!!!
  5. Well im a Ibanez man but due to John Petrucci leaving Ibanez and going to EBMM i had to try his model out....i now am a Ibanez/EBMM man now lol i was very impressed with the way the neck felt is was very comfortable to play......of course that the next thing on my wish list lol. I never got to play EVH's model i know the Axis is pretty much the same thing as what his was. But to answer the question...yeah im a EBMM fan!!!!!!!
  6. SWEET!!!!!!!!!! Once again Brian comes through for us again a "how to swirl your guitar" tutorial in the works by someone else and Mr. B himself I look forward to that tutorial!!!!!!
  7. Vaibanez, I know what your going through lol iv serched and serched and have been laughed at mostly by mostly everyone who has that info. I remember Brian having a tutorial a while back on "paint swirl" im sure he'd give you the info( BTW..Brian, where ever did that tutorial go lol???) . I did get a nibble of info from someone. i was told to use a polyurathan based paint but to be mindful to use it quickly before the colors bleed into each other. LOL of course i have not tried this yet the cost of poloy-paint is alittle more moola then your enamel or latex. But if all else fails you could always stop by Frede Herc's websight( not sure of the proper web address type in "herc custom" under serch and see if it pulls it up) and let him do it for you lol but i imagine your like me and want to try it yourself....i don't blame ya!!!!!! good luck in your continued serch if i come accross anything else i'll relay it to you as im still serching myself so vice versa ahhhite!!!! Laterz!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Hey Brian, Id love to help out anyway possible lol i dont really have any "special" skills to put everyone at "awe" but i do love music and i do love the guitar. Thats what always has interest me is to tear down the guitar and take what youve dreamed up and customize it. Again any area i can be of assistance...... buzz me
  9. AHHH their it is.......lol sweet!!!!! Brian. Ya know i was thinking about going with water decals also but i guess either- or it dosen't really matter as long as you get that "custom" look to it. Love the new tutorial!!!!!!!
  10. Sweet Brad, thats what my next project is to convert a RG to a JPM90th. Might i ask how you are going to get the picaso design on the flamed maple? I have a pretty good idea about doing it, just seeing if your way may be easier. lol Brian feel free to give your input on this as well im sure your wondering "where those pics you promised of the material 540P radius" well the digital camrea i have is CRAP!! so im gonna have to do it the old fashiond way and take the pic and have it put on disk. But anyway back to the origin of the topic here lol Brad keep us updated on the project i'd like to see how it turns out oh....are you gonna follow the same color pattern on the JPM90th or go with a different color scheme?
  11. AHHHH this all too much to take in lol "i fear change" :o lol i like my Floyd rose edge/lopro trem......sure it's a pain changing strings...dont get me wrong the speedloader looks pretty sweet but i don't know.......i maybe getting all paranoid over nothing oh well if this is the new direction in trems then i guess i'll change with it lol
  12. LOL must be pretty hard to keep your hands off that guitar..geezz my g/f would freak if i had my guitar all "sexy" like that lol i may come home and the guitar gone lol. Maybe i'll have a "secret" guitar and have a hiding place.
  13. Thanks for the feedback guys. Man i must'v had a brain fart i forgot about the anodized coating on it lol i work around all this stuff everyday gezzzz. Well i tried and i must say its alot harder then i thought lol. Actually Brian that's what i origanally planed was to have "JW" do it for me, I just thought id be "thrifty and crafty" and have a go at it myself . I have most the tools needed at work lol (thats where i work on most of my projects) but i think in the long run it will just be easiest to let JW do it lol. Again thanks Brian and "LGM" for the input....It's always appreciated!!!
  14. Hey guys, Im attempting to make a mirror (aluminum) pickguard. A question i have about doing this is do i need and kind of special backing on the under side of the guard? Not sure but i think iv herd that you need some kinda backing on it cause of the wiring and all lol hate to set it all up and strum my first chord and be electicuted and knocked into tomorrow Any info or pointers anyone has out thier would be greatly appereciated
  15. LOL im pretty partial to the JPM picaso design as you can see. I think it would be cool to have it do something but what i have no clue lol. Patrick you rock man killer designs for yourself and Jeremy.
  16. Sean lol you definantly know what im talking about and to top it off i live in apartments lol having people peaking out of there shades like spying on me lol if anything they could be my first critics of my work :lol:Brian i know your in no better shape with humidity also living in FL. your weather conditions pretty much match ours. Back on my 540P yes this was a real challenge for me especially being my first project. the most difficult part i encountered was the sanding all the different edges on that body gave me fits. Also when i bought the guitar off Ebay the top of the headstock was chewed off....looked like it was used for bashing a cymbol or something but i got some plastic wood and reshaped it so i was pretty darn proud of that lol. All in all that poor guitar looked like it had seen its days but i think iv manage to bring it back to life:wub: Now what sucks is on the other one (RG550) iv already painted the mirage color on it but.....now im looking at maybe putting the monkey grip and lions claw on it lol im having a mirror pickguard made for this one.Ohhhh well lol i guess its better i make a decision now then sit their after iv top coated and polishied it going "ya know i think that would look better with the JEM extras on it" lol as the late painter "Bob Ross" would say "it's your own little world" Well iv rambled on long enough lol i almost forgot i was at work . Laterz guys!!!!!
  17. Working on two at the moment Ibanez 540P radius(i might be wrong on that) doing a material finish on that, waiting to gold plate the hardware and top coat. The other is Ibanez RG550 iv painted the body and headstock that mirage changing color "gold/magenta" and im waiting on doing the same thing im doing to the 540 as well. It's pretty frustrating being i live in Houston where the humidity wont give me a break to finish but hopefully that will change soon "come on cold fronts". The 540 was kinda difficult given the style of the body but i think i came out pretty cool i will have pics very soon to show what iv done......of course all my thanks to Mr. B. Calvert for having the sweetest websight out their, and sharing all his tricks of the trade !!!!!!!
  18. Hmmm ok...yeah thats what i had in mind....thats really what im looking at getting done to the ones i have (gold plated). Time to break out the yellow pages and find all the custom auto/body shops and get the best price quote......LONG LIVE MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. WHOA!!!!!!!!! Benny Hanna would be proud of this sushie delight!!!!! of course myself id keep a match and lighter fluid handy and do a Jimmy Hendrix on it if worst came to worst But i gotta say.... awesome job on the guitar and that inly work kicks butt!!!!!!!
  20. That sounds petty cool A lot of potential with that idea if it comes out right.
  21. Hey has anyone ever taken a floyd rose tremblo that was all scrached up or painted on and try and refinish it? I have a couple in this condition and would like to refinish them.
