  1. Birthdays coming up, dads offering to buy a guitar. I would love a Gibson blueshawk. Buddy at school had one, ive played it a few times, and loved it. he hated it and sold it for a tele. im not gonna ask dad for an $800 guitar, but im thinking $4-500 would be agreeable. Anyone have any opinions on the Hamer Archtop? Or how about Hamer in general? Experience? Thanks for any help.
  2. lots of classicals use spruce tops.
  3. spanish classicals are traditionally spruce tops and cedar backs. but im not a wood expert(yet), so i couldnt tell you its cedar for sure.
  4. I dont think so, unless its some kind of an effect, like an octave dropper, but it would only drop 2 half steps, and only one string. itd be tough. im not as electronic as some of these guys, but id think the E would need its own pickup, and have that wierd effect wired in right away...
  5. suppose if youre careful it would work.
  6. depends on the amount of ambient noise the pups will recieve, as well as the distance from the speakers, like nyjbkim said. i wont get any feedback from my EMGs, some from the stockers in my Schecter, and lots from the shitty stockers in my yamaha $trat. And if i stand right up next to my amp and stick the pickups in front of an active speaker, itll make it louder. also, since you seem to like that sound, and youll figure this out on your own eventually, but moving the guitar back and forth, or closer and further in front of the speaker will change the sound a bit, enjoy
  7. well, the tutorial is at projectguitar.com, and it looks interesting, but i havent tried it. Sorry.
  8. I think it could be the adapter. Is that the correct power setting for Boss pedals? I'd tell you what mine is but I dont have it right here. I do think its power, though. Try throwing a 9v in it instead of using the AC adapter and see if the sound is still there. It could be guitar noise, too. My metal zone gives me a tiny hiss that is just pickup noise being amplified...i think.
  9. If you do this, maybe write up a little tutorial. that'd be an awesome idea.
  10. Check this page for aerosol paints and dyes. And im new, too. Who is this bryan fellow and whats the PRS kit like? I wanna build one too.
  11. i have an 81/85 set in my explorer and love it. id suggest that. havent tried or heard the 60 though.
  12. damn dude, that is good. and i like the back, dont worry about it.
