  1. Hey Folks; Okay, I am rebuilding a strat with the above pups configuration with the added twist in that the 2 singles are actually double rail humbucker pups. What I would like to know is there a way to use 3 micro switches to coil split all of the humbuckers outside of the 5 way switch. In other words have the standard 5 way switch set up and then 3 micro switches to turn coil splitting on and off for each of the pups. Or am I just a psycho with delusions of ganduer with this idea? At least with the coil splitting anyway.. Look forward to hearing suggestions of wiring diagrams or if ti is even possible. Dragyn
  2. Should have done this first me thinks. Hey all, Dragyn here. Been a hobby woodworker for over 20 years and with my daughter and I both getting into playing guitars and not having much luck finding a guitar to fit my fat fingers I started looking into building my own. HAve been through most of the posts here and hope to learn a bit more. I may not play good, but the aspect of building and refinishing guitars has snagged the hobbiest in me so hope to have some pics of a current project up soon. See you in the rest of the forum. Dragyn
  3. With a maple fret board you could always make it a black rose with the blood drips and the thorns line up according to the fret positions. Just a suggestion. Dragyn
  4. HAs anyone had any experience with the following Bridge I am planning to put this type of bridge on a first build guitar and wanted to get some feedback from you folks. Any realistic comments welcome! Dragyn
  5. Just my tuppence worth, but if you are looking for someting totally different, maybe something along the lines of the body looking like the body and back end of a sci-fi space vehicle of some sort. Take the suggestion with a grain of salt. Dragyn
  6. Let see how old is chase colour concept. . . . . Dragyn

  9. Possibly fill the steer head with Turquiose Tru-stone and turquiose topped knobs.
  10. Thanks for the link, but it didn't help. IT looked like who ever had this body before me wired it like a standard 3 single with some extra connections going no where. I am going back to the drawing board and unsolder everything and start from scratch. Dragyn
  11. Hey All; I scored a pretty decent strat body and neck off the bay and plan on refinishing it. I have been a woodworker for over 15 years to refinishing wood items is not that big of an issue for me, but what I could use is some assistance in colour suggestions. The neck is your standard maple with rosewood fret board with a modified head. No biggie there, but I plan on using a snake skin pickguard like this only it will be set up for a S/S/H. My question to you folks is what colour should I refinish the body in?? I do not want to do the black or white and the body needs to be solid colour and I would like it to stand out, but not outrageously so. Looking forward to your suggestions. Dragyn
  12. Just want to add my compliments as well to your guitar building skills. Fabulous work and excellent eye for wood.
  13. Clavin; Gorgeous work as usual. All of your work displayed here and on your site is absolutely fabulous. I just wish I could afford to have you do a Dragon's neck inlay on a fret board for the custom I am building now, but it would cost more than the entire guitar to have it done, so I will just continue to drool over your leetness!!!!!!
  14. Looking for the wiring diagram for any of the Jackson electrics with the SSH pickup setup. I have rebuilt this jackson dinky, but the wiringing in the body seems odd. Any help would be appreciated. Dragyn
  15. I would be interested in a serpent/dragon's neck type desing to fit on a standard strat type neck/fingerboard. LEt me know 3010609bro@comcast.net. Dragyn
  16. I am building a guitar from pieces and I have gotten to the point that I have a sharp neck with some nice inlay, but am having trouble identifying what tuning machines I can use. It is a 3 X 3 set up, but the holes in the headstock are 5/16ths or 8 mm. I am trying to find some black chrome tunners that fit that so that I do not have to go and redrill the tuning machine holes. Any suggestions as to mfgrs or brands?????
