  1. you can find plans for an sg in www.guitarbuild.com i dunno if they are well drawn cos i cannot view them, but at least they are listed bye
  2. tomorrow is the show, i´m gonna watch them i love the cd, i´m not talking noway about how they do not use all their potential playing or the dirty sound or the non existing production. but i just like how it sounds, and i do believe it´s got the right name, i feel the rage in the voices and the mad guitars first time i heard it it was strange, i expected killing riffs as it always had been, but there's a totally different concept in this album i think, and i´m not a total metallica fan, as you would be thinking. BTW those who said this is like nu metal, well it seemed to me the first time, now i say this is what i would call trash metal, just because lars is playing a bin instead of a drum XD
  3. mmmm, i´ve got to say i don´t understand what you wanted to say, and dude, i´m spanish
  4. that is exactly what i was thinking of, at which disctance should the holes for de strings be drilled??
  5. great. so it´s been done before huh?? it reminds me of a song. it´s not that i wanted to invent somthg, but it stills sounds weird to me to lower a tune-o-matic. however, if the bridge goes lower, the angle that the strings form on top of it will be greater, will this affect somehow badly the sound. westheman, do u have any pics you could post or send me, they would be really helpfull and tanx for you time boys,
  6. so, i want to build a nearly les paul double cutaway with a tune-o-matic and a string throug body (if i finally manage to get those so-called eyelets here) i want to make no neck angle cos i find it to difficult for me to attempt as a first project(btw it will be a glued neck). now, the tune-o-matic height´s significant and i don´t think only by lowering it to the bottom is enough to void the need of angle, thus i worked out with a great effort of my ... whatever... that fitting the bridge in a recess in the body might be a solution. is this totally stupid??
  7. u lucky. i don't know if i'll have to pay, anyways if i have i today found out it would cost me 30% of it's value, so i still get both cheap enough to make it worth it XD
  8. so, i live in spain, and as i was looking for the cheapest place to purchase a pair of humbuckers for my fake les pauls i run accross this page, i think it was in one of the forums and saw really nice prices. But this site is in the USA, it sure ships internationally, but doesn´t give any further information than the cost which seems to be standard, and i don´t know to which point i can rely on buying with a credit card and have a parcel sent by plain mail. If you are ever wondering why i should buy then from so far away, i´ll tell you that each of the pick ups here cost 120 €, which is more than 120 dollars, and sending here from there would cost 150 US dollars both. What do you suggest?? Did you ever bought anything from that page and know they are reliable?? and last ... is it everything bout guitars so f***ing cheap over there: i would consider moving there XD please help bye
  9. right, i think this has just been replyied in another forum XD
  10. i have another question regarding string through bodies. the hole you drill to pass the string through is in a straigth angle (i think that is said that way, sorry for my english) or has it to be in another one so as the strings not to touch the wood, or maybe that's the intention if there's an angle, which is it. if there's not, and the strings touch the wood, should anything be put between the string and the wood at the end of the hole, cos i think the string would cut into the wood a channel just call me fool, but i've never seen one of those except for photographs on the net, so there's a lot of thinks i just couldn't figure out keep on rockin'
  11. thank you man. btw i love your custom made blue guitar bye
  12. hi, this is my first post!! i have in mind to build a solid body guitar but with an acoustic bridge. i intended to use a 25 in scale (635mm) but came in with the problem that i don´t really know how the angle of the saddle in acoustic bridges changes the meassurements, do i meassure from the centre of the saddle, from the bottom? which angle should i use? if there is any rule of thumb i´d be pleased to know it, thanx
