  1. I smoke at a party or something occasionally but after it nearly got the better of me I'm against doing it on a regular basis, its f**ked up a lot of people I know
  2. Hey, south coast of the UK here, you northern monkeys I have PG tips in my house.
  3. Thats a really cool design well executed!
  4. May be because this guy only ever links to his survey, even in threads that are completely unrelated? http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...sult_type=posts
  5. Looking really good! I would say that you have probably taken away a bit too much of the cover.
  6. So should I mask off the maple and fill the wenge with lot of coats of sealer, and then seal the entire neck before the clear coat?
  7. I think they're trade marked? Meaning you arent allowed to copy and sell them, so you probably wont find them from any big dealers, you might get sets off ebay, or variants ofthe design but not the same.
  8. Hey Whats the best way to fill wenge pores? Advantages of CA or epoxy? Theres going to be a satin acrylic (I think) lacquer over the top of the neck. Its a 3 peice neck, so do I mask off the maple and just paste the filler over the wenge, wait for it to dry and repeat untill it doesnt soak in any more? Some tips or a tutorial link on pore filling would be awesome. Also wondering about which order to finish my neck. I will be swirling the headstock to match the body, I dont have the process perfected yet, so should I fill the wenge, (do I then have to seal the entire neck, wenge +maple before clear coat?) then satin clear over it, but have the front of the h/s masked off, swirl it at a later date while the back of the headstock + neck is all masked off, and then gloss clear over the swirl? Can I mask off clear lacquer without leaving residue? Cheers
  9. Hey, didnt really know where to put this, but I was wondering (assuming we stay in standard tuning) Does scale length affect the tone of a piezo loaded bridge? People say that baritones have a more piano like clarity or bell like tone (I dont really know how to describe it, but the tone is different anyway) so surely a piezo bridge that is directly touching the strings and feeding off the vibration would be affected by this? Would it be better to have a longer or shorted scale length for a piezo bridge? Longer I imagine, for clarity? Any way, food for thought, might just be tone voodoo though Regards Neil
  10. Are the prices accurate atm? Or are we still doubling for Ebony?
  11. Is their enough clearance between the adjustment screws of the TOM and the side of recess? I imagine there is, just looks a tad tight. Hows the hum going to be mounted? How are the strings going to be fastened down? Ferrules following the curve of the raised circle would look pretty cool. Awesom design though, cant wait to see it
  12. I actually REALLY liked your R7t, very clean very professional looking, I voted for it when it was in GOTM and brootal guitars definately need brootal headstocks I mean getting the fret job professionally leveled. From a shop in the UK Its called 'Blood Basin Jasper' a reconstitued rock inlay 5th one down http://www.smallwonder-music.co.uk/shop/Al...-Inlay/c-1-116/
  13. Are they actually out of buisness, or just being very unprofessional? Sucks they stitched you over, *edit woopsie, thanks soap*
  14. Some carve pics I strung it up and its actually very comfortable, supports the hand very nicely, I expected to find it harder to play on because I'm use to Ibanez thickness, and this neck is really rather thick in comparison as I was too scared to take much wood of, but it shreds like the rest of my guitars (badly because I cant shred lol) It needs some sanding to bring it up to finish ready, and the fret ends need a lil work, but its an awesome lil player. Prob have to get it professionally leveled because I havent got a clue how to do that.

Can I mask off clear lacquer without leaving residue? --- I'm a sucker for black pinstripe accent lines between light bodies and tops, or pretty much any where, but I'm wondering should I buy pre stained black stuff, or do you guys buy the cheapest white stuff you can get and then stain it yourself? I cant imagine it would be very hard to stain a veneer for pinstriping use? --- I'm also wondering how to stain mahogany, I mean PRS and others seem to be able to match the colours of theirs tops to their backs quite well and get really nice colours out of mahogany, but mahogany is a dark wood and surely just gets muddy brown if you try and stain it? Do they have to bleach it whiter first? How is this done? Or is it a coloured clear coat that does the trick? Cheers all
  16. I'm not sure whether you would want to do this, but I think if you trimmed round the end with a router and installed bindin the top would look the correct size again?
